Wrecked TWA airliner found on Buena Vista Peak

A party of over 50, guided by mining prospector H. O. Collier, found the wrecked TWA airliner with eight of nine bodies near the summit of Buena Vista Peak in Yosemite. Two Suspects Break Jail in Kansas

Cab Driver Seeks To Repay WPA Relief

Eugene Casey a 32 year old Negro taxi driver in New York sent a letter to the city treasurer asking to be taken off relief and how to repay the 49.10 received for himself and wife. He said he and his wife no longer need relief as he will resume driving his cab and wishes to be cut off voluntarily. Casey explained illness kept him on relief while in city hospital and that repaying the funds fits his upbringing.

Will Rogers Memorial Highway opening plan advances

A second underwriting meeting for the Will Rogers Memorial Highway pageant in Amarillo is set for 10:30 this morning at the Chamber of Commerce. About half of the 3600 needed has been pledged. firms including Globe-News Publishing, Herring Hotel, Crowe Cement, and Panhandle Laundry are among supporters. The event runs three days starting August 15 with motorcades from Los Angeles and Chicago meeting in Amarillo and coinciding with the national highway association convention.
