Three Killed in Truck Bus Crash at Mediapolis
A head on collision between a heavily laden truck and a passenger bus in Mediapolis Iowa left three dead and a fourth fatally injured. Eight others were injured, including an unidentified bus passenger a woman about 24 years old with a fractured skull and internal injuries. The truck driver Clinton Giese of Burlington was among the dead. The bus driver and another unidentified woman were also victims.

Paul Dodge, 62, editor and owner of the Tucumcari Daily News, died at 2 50 PM after a five day illness from a heart attack at the Sartain home. In Floydada on June 8 the first high plains wheat harvest was gathered by Martin and Zimmerman. The first load sold to Farmers Grain Company at 1 25 a bushel. Proceeds were shared by Floyd County Red Cross and the Parent Teacher Association. The crop yielded 17.5 bushels per acre of 58 pound wheat with high moisture.
