A four story frame hotel in San Francisco burned in the early hours killing seven people and injuring 18. A 56 year old pastor from Cheyenne died in the flames. his bride was saved. Firemen fought for two hours as walls blackened.
Report from Djibouti notes Ethiopian fighters remain armed near Addis Ababa with about 11,500 troops within 50 miles of the capital. Italian forces show little push beyond Addis Ababa except Gojjam as rains approach, while bandits loot and murder farmers. Guerrilla clashes persist and Italian reprisals mount.
The University of Texas unveils a ten and a half foot high replica dinosaur paired with its tracks, claimed to form the longest set found. The piece, bought from J Willis Stovall of Oklahoma, sits before Gregory Gym and aligns with a 67 foot trackway found in Hamilton County. It will be moved to the state museum when completed.

Dr. Robert Lee McMeans 69, a pioneer Amarillo physician, died in a local hospital Sunday after a six year illness. He came to Amarillo 32 years ago from Palestine Texas, practiced in San Antonio and Muskogee, Oklahoma, and trained in St Louis with internship at Johns Hopkins 48 years prior.
In North Dakota parched fields received rain as farmers and churches prayed across the state. Thunderstorms were forecast for tonight and tomorrow, and Gov. Walter Welford had proclaimed a statewide day of prayer for rainfall to revive crops.
