Search continues for cop killers in desert pursuit
Cortez, Colo. AP Massive manhunt for three camouflage clad men suspected of gunning down a police officer and wounding two sheriff's deputies shifted Sunday as searchers found possible signs of the trio's flight. Roughly 200 law enforcement officers from four states and at least three federal agencies combed the border area for a third day. In the afternoon, Cortez City Manager Bill Ray described what was found as physical evidence and speculated the suspects may be traveling as a group on foot.

A Louisiana man, John Kevin Smith age 33 from Melcher La, died early Sunday in Borger after his 1994 Ford pickup left Wilson Street. He was ejected at about 1 35 am while traveling potentially up to 88 mph. Police say preliminary reports indicate no belt use and an autopsy was ordered by Judge Faye Blanks.

Portales Man Dies in Clovis Crash
A one vehicle accident near Clovis early Sunday left Portales man Arthur Aragon dead and another man injured. The 1989 Honda rolled over after spinning on State Road 467 at 1:33 a.m. Aragon was pronounced dead at the scene and was likely the driver. Anthony Martinez, the passenger, was not interviewed due to injuries and was treated at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis but not admitted.
