The Community Facilities Administration approved a preliminary planning advance of 59300 for a dam and reservoir at Childress Texas costing about 4191009. It will boost water supply for seven communities and is an interest free loan repayable at construction start. The Green Belt Municipal and Industrial Water Authority is the applicant. Construction is slated to begin August 1 1963.
The Trans port Workers Union called a nationwide strike against Pan American World Airways for Friday midnight. The company called the strike illegal and sought a federal court restraining order. TWU president Michael J. Quill said about 10,000 Pan Am workers would strike, though 2,000 Cape Canaveral missile base employees would remain on duty in the national interest.
Sen. George A. Smathers said the Senate would file a cloture petition to end the long debate on the communications satellite bill. The action followed an 11 hour 42 minute session and the fourth debate stretch since proceedings resumed last Thursday.
Amid a bitter debate on a foreign policy bill, Sen. Albert Gore and Sen. Maurine Neuberger spoke for hours as Sen. Smathers and Dirksen forged floor time deals. Gruening blocked an early start while a two hour session was approved for Gore tomorrow morning.

The Ernst and Ernst pro forma forecasts predict a 364 399 net income for the proposed corporation from Sept 1 1962 to Aug 31 1963 after depreciation.
Washington reports federal investigators found over one million bushels of corn and soybeans missing from warehouses in Michigan Ohio Iowa and Illinois. The Agriculture Department seeks court appointed receivers and restraining orders on shipments from these warehouses as part of a broader probe into government stock losses amid critiques of the storage program.
