A Navy Neptune patrol bomber from Hutchinson Naval Air Station crashed after takeoff in a Kansas farmyard killing all five crewmen. Four bodies were found in the wreckage with the fifth body thrown clear. Among the dead is Cadet William Cameron Slater of Panhandle Texas, son of Mr and Mrs John Slater.

Japan Beach Disaster Claims 36 Student Lives
