Beef Rationing Values Extended to August Thirteenth

Washington reports current point values on rationed beef and dairy will stay in effect at least until Aug 13. The Office of Price Administration postponed two weeks the War Food Administration mandate to remove most beef steaks and roasts from rationing. It allows restoration of point values for pork loins and hams while enforcing only top two beef grades under rationing. The conflict between OPA and WFA continues with a stalled August chart printout.

Berlin Silence Unexplained

London reports Berlin was cut off from the outside world last night under circumstances similar to the prior night following the assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler.
