Three Bonus Army Leaders Convicted in Police Court
John Page Walter Bicker and Roy Johnson, leaders of the radical Bonus Army wing, were found guilty of parading without a permit in police court. State's Tax Rate Lowered Five Cents in Texas
Austin July 26 The state tax rate on property valuations for this year is fixed at 69 cents per $100, five cents lower than last year. The drop follows a law restricting the rate to 69 cents despite a 77 cent constitutional maximum. The board projects a $261 million shrink in valuations from last year, with taxable values at about $3.92 billion. General revenue, school and pension portions are allocated accordingly.
