Frank Sebren owner of Frank's Electrical Company was found shot in his car near 34th and Bell. He was taken to Northwest Texas Hospital and underwent surgery. his condition was not known last night. Deputy Burnett said the exact cause remained undetermined and an accidental shooting could not be ruled out.

In Galveston on July 25 police and officials closed all known houses of prostitution after a direct order from District Attorney Marsene Johnson Jr. The move followed pressure from the Galveston Ministerial Association and the American Social Hygiene Association. Mayor Roy Hofheinz proposed an immediate district court trial on impeachment charges from the City Council in Houston. His lawyer and Hofheinz urged the council to join in seeking quo warranto action to challenge his office, while council members indicated a special session may be needed to pursue suspending him.
Randall County commissioners moved to secure right of way for a four lane highway from Canyon to Swisher County and a $700000 traffic interchange at US 87 and 60. Residents urged action. highway official warned funds would be withdrawn if deeds and easements are not secured.
A Santa Fe streamliner with 200 Boys Ranch youngsters and 50 adults arrived in Los Angeles for a Santa Monica Miramar Hotel banquet the first of 29 events. Welcomed at Winslow Arizona by Carl Weber and the Winslow Band the journey included breakfast served by Weber and 200 box lunches loaded for noon.
