Judge William Hawkins Dies at Abilene Home Following Operation
William E. Hawkins former Texas Supreme Court associate justice died at his Abilene home after an operation. Born September 26, 1862 in Greenwood Louisiana he served 1912 to 1920 on the high court and later held roles including state banking commissioner and assistant attorney general. He lived in Breckenridge and Dundee before settling in Abilene. survivors include Lindsay Hawkins, Eudora Hawkins, Marion Samson, and Stafford G. Helm.
