Big gas well fire near Fort Collins Colorado
The Mitchell gas well north of Fort Collins caught fire on July 23, after coming in last Saturday night. It had been flowing between 20 and 25 million cubic feet of gas daily, with initial estimates at 80 million before partial shutdown. The fire’s cause is unknown and flames were visible from the city. Two Arrests Made For Fatal Fire In Kansas City

Four Die as Smoke Stack Falls on Detroit Street
In Detroit Michigan on July 23 a weakened smoke stack toppled from the Charlevoix building eleven stories to the street. Four people were killed two instantly and two later died.
