The News reports Hillsboro Texas prepares for a large celebration when the first car travels the Tiallas Hillsboro Waco Interurban line. A program committee is set, and the Southern Traction company will run special cars from multiple cities to bring stockholders to Hillsboro for the event.
Charleston July 22 The South Carolina State Farmers Union began its seventh annual convention at the Isle of Palms with President Babb delivering the opening address. Speakers included Commissioner Watson of the state department of agriculture and Dr Bradford Knapp of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The meeting will conclude tomorrow.
London July 22 Associated Press reports a cartridge explosion in the House of Commons caused brief alarm. Home Secretary McKenna discussed the arrest of Mrs Pankhurst when a shot rang from the Strangers gallery. Washington, a Leeds socialist club member, was ejected. the pistol proved a harmless toy.
Rev. Ernest E K Robinson delivered a Bible lecture titled Driven Home by the Storm at Polk Street Methodist Church on Wednesday night. The talk drew strong interest from auditors as a male quartet sang and the mid week service proved unusually engaging.
