District Attorney Jack Boone said a killer is sought after the coroner's inquest into Mrs. Blas Nickell's death. An Amarillo pathologist ruled death by acute pulmonary congestion due to suffocation. Autopsy placed time of death 2 to 4 hours after her last meal. bruises on her face considered pressure marks. Mrs Nickell was last seen watering her yard at 9 30 p m Saturday and her nude body was found on a bed with a pillow over her face by her brother Jesse Romo of Panhandle.
President Nixon proposed a five year national program to provide birth control help to all women of child bearing age. The plan calls for about 150 million dollars more yearly to supply family planning advice and contraceptives to roughly 5.4 million low income women. He affirmed protections for religious beliefs and individual rights in a message to Congress.
The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a chance of showers late this afternoon and tonight. Highs in the lower 90s with southerly winds around 15 mph. Rain probability is 2 percent today and 30 percent tonight.
Space center note outlines grim limits in lunar rescue. Armstrong and Aldrin would face death within hours without timely help as oxygen runs out while Collins cannot aid landing crews. Even a waiting Apollo LM could not rendezvous or launch a rescue with more than two aboard.
