PORTSMOUTH New Hampshire July 18 Raymond Littlefield 30 of Portsmouth said yesterday was an exceedingly difficult day. He drove a rubbish truck when a 5 year old girl ran into the side of the vehicle and was taken to hospital with a small skull fracture. While heading to report the accident his load caught fire he moved the flaming truck to the police station garage and in extinguishing the blaze sprayed acid and foam on the city marshal car. He then called the fire department. Firefighters battled the blaze as a 77 year old woman tripped over a hose and fractured her leg. Neither the girl nor the woman was in serious condition.

Plains Drivers Die in Crashes
Miss Mattie Camelia Foster of Canyon and William Henry Hardaway of Happy were killed in separate Panhandle highway crashes early Thursday. Foster, about 60, died from injuries after her car collided with Amarillo men Jack Slatten and Ernest Roberts on US Highway 60, six miles north of Canyon. Hardaway, 68, died at 10 30 a m when his butane truck overturned on a country road five miles northeast of Happy. Funeral services will be held for Foster and Hardaway.
