Boy Beaten by Patient on Flight Sparks Shooting Incident
In San Juan Puerto Rico a mental patient being returned to a Michigan hospital beat a 6 year old boy unconscious in an airplane restroom and then wounded a police officer after the plane diverted to San Juan. Warren J. Compeau 27 of Heron Michigan was identified as the suspect. He had previously left a VA hospital without authorization and had entered the San Juan VA hospital earlier this month. Michigan state police noted a prior knife incident in a church and a Florida arrest warrant for robbery.
