Truck Snags Line Cutting Power and Phone Service
A passing truck snagged a line at 1800 North East Eighth Ave, snapping two telephone poles and cracking another. Power and phone service were cut for about three hours to a few customers as crews diverted traffic and replaced damaged poles. The truck driver fled the scene. no registration found. Service resumed by 4 p.m.

An angry woman paid a traffic fine in pennies at the city corporation court office. After challenging an improper parking ticket, she returned at 5 p.m. with a jar of pennies, counting out exactly $3. The clerk issued a receipt as she left smiling.

Man Arrested Here On Forgery Charges
Deputies arrested M. C. Atkinson 38 of Crowell Texas on a forgery warrant. He was believed to be in Amarillo after being in the city about 10 days. He is also wanted in Crowley Louisiana on a worthless check charge. San Juan Puerto Rico was founded in 1510.
