Amarillo High School A Capella Choir schedules a full concert at Municipal Auditorium next Tuesday to raise funds for a New York trip. With 52 members, the group seeks to reach a $10,000 goal through free admission with donations, a rummage sale, and a benefit dance at the VFW hall Saturday.
Oswald Glasberg, 49, found dead in his jail cell hours after being convicted of abortion and manslaughter in the Ward Baking Co. heiress case. Judge had remanded both Glasberg and co defendant Dr. Paul Singer amid claims of threats to kill self. Trial revealed Eduardo Schneidewind wooed Jane Ward, heiress to a bakery fortune, with the couple's relationship spanning years and ending in a fatal abortion at Mrs Ward’s October 27 death.
