Houston Pair Aims for Longest Flight Record
A monoplane named Houston-Billion Dollar City with orange red wings and a black body, piloted by Joe Glass and Glenn L. Loomis, started a endurance refueling flight to reclaim the record for Texas. The flight must stay aloft until July 25, with refueling planned tonight and a light fuel load to ease takeoff. Loomis, 24, heads a local aviation school. Glass, 28, is an air mail pilot from Fort Worth. Lieutenant Earl T. Showalter pilots the refueling ship as the current record of 246 hours 43 minutes 32 seconds stands from California fliers last week.

Boyd Jones Makes Rapid Progress Across the West
Amarillo pony express rider Boyd Jones has covered 300 miles of his continent spanning trek. In a letter to the chamber of commerce he says he is broadcasting Amarillo along the route to Washington to deliver an invitation to President and Mrs. Hoover for the Tri State Fair in September. He left Amarillo two weeks ago during the Texan Park rodeo's final day and is due in Oklahoma City today.

Boundary dispute could add Oklahoma land to Texas
A survey by Samuel Gannett for the U S Supreme Court estimates 28 500 acres 44 6 square miles of Oklahoma land would shift to Texas if the court adopts the report. The boundary along the true one hundredth meridian may place more land under Texas control than currently. Body of Texas man found under bridge near Itasca
The body of A. I. Rice, 36, of Houston, with a bullet wound to the head, was found beneath a bridge north of Itasca by a state highway department worker. Rice’s car was abandoned between Grandview and Alvarado after running out of fuel.

Body of Henry Gifford Found After Five Day Search
In Alanreed a 60 year old man Henry Walter Gifford wandered from his daughter's home last Wednesday. Two boys Davie and Wayne Kite found the body in a Hadgins pasture seven miles northeast. Authorities were notified and the body brought to Alanreed for funeral services. Gifford had been ill for several years.
