Fatal crash at highways 60 and 66 near Amarillo base
A two car crash just east of Amarillo Air Force Base before midnight Friday killed 70 year old Joe Mint Hunter of Borger and injured nine others. Hunter, his wife and four minors from Borger were among the injured, with Stacy Minor in critical condition. Investigation shows W T Sherrill driving grandchildren from Memphis collided with the Hunters’ car as heavy traffic backed up. Authorities from Amarillo and the base hospital dispatched multiple ambulances and air police to the scene.
