Four road projects in the Panhandle will be let August 1 by the highway commission. Potter County gets two jobs on Highway 5 north of Amarillo including a bridge over Amarillo Creek and drainage works 11.4 miles to the county line. Gray County handles Highway 75 paving 17 miles from Wheeler to Donley counties, triple bituminous. Wheeler County will see a U S 66 overpass over the Rock Island line.

Canyon July 9 The Tierra Blanco Hog Farms east of Canyon owned by the McSpadden Brothers Amarillo offer to exchange six cents per bushel above the local wheat market for pure bred hogs. They will sell over a hundred head of registered hogs on the exchange basis. The farm bred Hampshire Poland China and Duroc Jerseys and houses over 600 head of blooded hogs. The county marketed $500000 worth of hogs in 1939.
