Attorney general says three months since publication not elapsed and that adoption methods must be strictly followed. Acting Secretary Payne will tell county judges to cancel the election. The amendment would give the Highway Department supervision of the highway system and authority to maintain the state road system.

Naval balloon found in Lake near Port Stanley
A U S Navy air balloon piloted by Lt. L. J. Roth and Lt. T. B. Null started from Indianapolis July 4 in the national elimination race. It was found collapsed and water soaked in Lake Erie about 25 miles southeast of Port Stanley. The balloon basket was not recovered, clothing of the missing airmen was found in bags on the rigging, plus a small clock stopped at 2:44 and Roth’s watch at 4:30.

Two Brothers Killed In Paradise Texas Shooting
In Paradise Texas Paul and Arthur Steele aged 42 and 80 were shot and killed on Saturday afternoon after a long legal lead. Tom Burnett, indicted weeks earlier for poisoning a well on Burnett’s ranch, was arrested and later released on $70,000 bond. Burnett fired at the Steeles in front of a general store. both died at once. Eight shots were fired in the incident as shoppers fled.
