Two Boys Die From Tank Explosion Near Pampa
In Pampa Texas the second fatality from an explosion of two distillate tanks occurred when Truman Frank Newman aged 14 died at Highland General Hospital after burns covering about 80 percent of his body. His 12 year old cousin Dennil Lemont Newman died at the scene. A double funeral is set for Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church. Witnesses said the brothers were shooting fireworks near the tanks at the Groninger and King Construction Co. plant east of Pampa on Highway 60 moments before the blast.
