United Press reports 15,000 garment workers walked out in New York causing two serious altercations and 20 fist fights. A man lost part of his arm to a razor, others were beaten. three arrests made as 250 officers patrolled the district amid four active strike groups including garments and leather workers.
C. W. Watkins was killed and H. G. Nails, his brother in law, jailed in Childress Texas after a shooting at a farm home last night. A widow and three children survive.
Billie Stephens, 40, a Bullard farmer, was killed when his car collided with a wagon ten miles southwest of Tyler early today. His wife was badly injured and the wagon driver, a Black man, was only slightly hurt.
Tuesday comes with fair and warmer conditions for Amarillo and vicinity. West Texas sees partly cloudy skies with possible showers in extreme west and warmer north portions. The New Mexico region remains generally fair with warmer northeast areas. Observations show temperatures and a 24 hour precipitation total, with Amarillo recording around 88 degrees and multiple other cities listed with highs and precip.

Gary Indiana July 2 Foster 3B Jones a Dallas Texas aviator was sentenced to a maximum of five years in prison for robbing the Grant Park State Bank in Gary March 26 with two accomplices. He claimed he was coerced while intoxicated.
A Texas lands dispute over 130 acres near Borger in Hutchinson County tied to a $50 million recovery suit against Phillips Petroleum saw Land Commissioner J W Robison award surface rights to Ed B Trigg of Amarillo. The award, subject to appellate action, gives Trigg $4 per acre for surface rights with equal sharing of lease money and one sixteenth oil royalty for both Trigg and the state.
Bobby Jones arrived in Atlanta from the golf circuit to a dense crowd at the station. He carried the U S G A championship trophy from Winged Foot and headed home to be with his family after the victory.
Pampa Texas July 2 A 25 year old tool dresser C C Kellerman fell from a toll box where he slept into the wheel of an oil rig engine near Pampa and was killed.
Raymond Went land and Tomas Hernandez are convicted of murder in Laredo. Went land sentenced to 99 years and Hernandez to 20 years for choking Marty Williams, a Laredo newspaper reporter, in a hotel and dumping his body into the Rio Grande. District Attorney Lee Bobbitt leads the provocation forces.

Wilbur C. Hawk president of the Tri-State Fair Association urged Amarillo and the Panhandle to attend the Miller and King rodeo show describing it as a Tri-State Exposition affair.
