A brief tornado, the third in the Panhandle this year, struck Farwell Texas and Texico New Mexico at 6 55 p m causing property damage but no deaths. Homes garage and a tourist camp were damaged while Farwell and Texico lost communications for hours and telephone lines to Amarillo were repaired quickly.

Boy Drowns in Stock Tank Near Spearman
Raymond Rosson, 4 year old son of Mr and Mrs Tom Rosson, fell into a stock tank at their home 12 miles southwest of Spearman and drowned. Funeral services will be held today at the family home conducted by Rev J H Richards. Interment in Holt cemetery.

Dallas County Officer Shot Near Mesquite
Tom Davis a Dallas County constable was shot and killed near Mesquite while questioning a group of Mexicans about a stolen automobile. Deputy Gardner Jones was wounded in the face. The attackers escaped as Davis’s rifle wound pierced his heart. Continued on page 13.
