Forrest G. Thackaberry of Kansas City was killed when an army aircraft carrying him collided with another plane over North Kansas City Missouri. Captain W. L. Campbell parachuted to safety after the tail was cut. The other plane landed with a broken propeller. At Clinton Iowa three people died when a separate aircraft crashed on the new Clinton golf course links.
