Special to The News Washington D C Jan 30 Headquarters of the national Red Cross announced today that 28 Texas chapters are among the 356 which up to Friday had reached or exceeded their quotas for drought relief. These chapters are Beaumont Beeville Bryan Columbus Lamesa Clarendon Ennis La Grange Goliad San Marcos Karnes City Lampasas Brady Midland Sweetwater Perryton Marfa San Augustine San Angelo Austin El Campo Nacogdoches Glenrose Fort Stockton Shamrock Coleman Richmond and Gonzales.
Hereford voters will receive tax relief for 1930 with half payment due February 1 and the second half due August 1 without penalty. CANON CITY Colo January 30 Three bank bandits were executed at the state penitentiary for the murder of undersheriff Coral Hickman during a chase from Kansas. John Walker Andrew Halliday and Claude Ray received the death sentence after a Manter Kansas bank robbery and a brief pursuit across the border. They had shot Hickman and wounded Sheriff Duncan Coe and others before being captured near Jetmore Kansas. The trio confessed in Denver jail and were later baptized or given religious consolation before the hangings.
Fort Worth crowds welcomed Will Rogers who spoke at a negro church and a theater raising more than 15000 for Red Grass relief funds. The total will be known after counting. Rogers also attended a Woman's club event before being greeted by oilman Harry F. Sinclair on his return from Wichita Falls.
A special grand jury returned an indictment for murder Friday afternoon against Charles Little Chuck Wilson of LeFors in the slaying of C H Taylor, Phillips Petroleum foreman, on the highway west of LeFors. Taylor's body was found early Wednesday morning. Wilson and his wife remain jailed without bond as the wife’s case awaits grand jury attention.

House rejected four proposals to dole out 25 million dollars to the needy and four modifications of senate language to fund Red Cross administration. Senate Democrats warned they would press the issue beyond March 4 as the six phase relief program faced strong opposition and continued on page 12.
In Memphis a deputy sheriff, Bill Guess of Ardmore Oklahoma, faces murder charges for shooting Elbert Hart alias Pat O Day at an Estelline filling station after Hart broke from a posse seeking arrest for Buddy Moorehead slaying. Hart died at the scene. funeral planned in Estelline.
