Hitler prepares a radio address for the Reichstag opening on Monday afternoon, marking the sixth anniversary of Nazi rule. Berlin flags draped the city as deputies arrive to celebrate a rising continental power, with observers predicting a hard but peaceful 1939.

The Wolf Creek project in Ochiltree County adds a 1585 foot dam and 89 foot high crest to form a 640 acre lake with 862 acre feet capacity. It supports flood control soil and water programs and ties to the Panhandle Water Conservation Authority efforts guided by Congressman Marvin Jones. The site near the Buried Indian City of Ochiltree County features a spillway for up to 28 500 cubic feet per second and a 1500 tree planting program as heavy construction progresses toward completion by March 1.
