Deputies Stop Showing of Striporama at Capitol Theater
Potter County deputies halted a Capitol Theater screening of Striporama and seized the film as evidence. Theater manager Thomas Luttrell, 32, was charged with showing a lewd motion picture. bond set at 500 dollars. Luttrell claimed the film has been shown elsewhere without objection.

One Killed In Powder Blast At Bermite Plant
Eighteen women were injured in a massive Bermite Powder Co explosion at the NE Fresno area plant. Mrs. Della Mitchell of San Fernando died tonight after being blown from the building along with three other workers. Frances Floyd and Leora Tolle were critically injured.

Five Injured In Head On Collision In Pleasant Valley
Five people were hurt in a head on crash on the Dumas Highway near Pleasant Valley. Four Hughes family members, including Kathleen Hughes age 6, were admitted for observation or treatment. William Hall of Abernathy was listed as most seriously injured with head injuries and shock. Highway patrols noted the Hughes car near the center of the lane. the other car was partly in the center and partly the west lane. The wreck occurred about 8 45 PM near Bonita Avenue, with two Boxwell Brothers ambulances transporting the injured.
