A W Root about 50 suffered multiple broken ribs and a deep head wound when struck by a car driven by Ray Armstrong at 10 last night. Root was taken to Northwest Texas Hospital in very serious condition. Armstrong, a News Globe worker, said he hit Root before he saw him in front of the vehicle and he then drove him to the hospital. He lives at the El Blanco tourist camp.
