Secretary of State Henry L. Stimson conferred with British Prime Minister Ramsay MacDonald at Chequers before the Big Five naval conference session. The leaders planned their discussions in preparation for the Downing Street meeting.
Ada Rogers aged 53, Miami postmistress for 12 years, died at home after a months long illness. Formerly Ada Gillaland of Childress Texas, she was past worthy matron of the local Order of Eastern Star. Funeral services set for Monday at 10 a.m. at the Methodist church with Rev John Eldridge. Burial in Miami Cemetery under O E S direction.
Amarillo sees partly cloudy skies with little temperature change. West remains generally fair while the east turns cloudy with possible rain in the southeast Monday and Tuesday. East Texas also mostly cloudy with unsettled conditions and occasional rain, winds from the southeast along the coast.

Three Springfield, Ohio men were killed when their car slid on snow and ice into the tracks at Reeseville near Wilmington. The victims were identified as James Gossett 25 Earl Gossett 23 and J. C. Smithson 25. The Baltimore and Ohio train struck the car and carried the wreckage several hundred feet.
Special to The News Tucumcari Jan 26 three stills were captured in Quay County Sunday evening by Sheriff Mancus Deputy Sheriff Anderson and Enforcement Officer Ray Sutton. The first still had 160 gallon capacity and was taken from the caprock south of ard the second a 60 gallon still was taken from Rana creek northeast of Rana and the third a 60 gallon machine.

Joe Cantillon, 65, long respected baseball figure nicknamed Pongo Joe, lies dying at his Hickman home after a stroke. On an ice island near Siberia's coast two fliers found the wreckage of Carl Ben Eielson and mechanic Earl Borland, missing since November 9. The craft showed heavy damage with no bodies found despite deep snow drifts and provisions remaining in the cabin.
