Boggy Creek Lake Aids Panhandle Recreation and Flood Control
Six lakes in the Panhandle include Boggy Creek near Canadian with a 2300 foot dam and 16 foot depth. When full the 508 acre feet lake will cover about 63 acres and host eight cabins bathhouse two boat houses a sand beach and picnic grounds. Project under WPA labor with contributions from Panhandle Water Conservation Authority and Hemphill County bonds funded 710 acres of land. Marian B. Hughes is project manager and E Moore leads engineering. construction by BAE unit and Soil Conservation Service.

Walter Wilson testified Sanford sought to divorce his wife Hallie to wed the other woman after the death of Mrs Sanford in a Tucumcari hospital on July 23. The state rested its case while the defense opened suggesting Mrs Sanford may have poisoned herself amid divorce efforts.
