Amish father held after 20 years of chained daughter
In Goshen Indiana a bearded Amishman is jailed on $1000 bond charged with incident and battery for allegedly keeping his daughter Lucy bound in bed by chains for nearly 20 years after she refused to join the Amish church. Sheriff Luther Yoder said the 41 year old woman was found in a locked 8 by 16 foot room with bruised wrists and a bleeding wound. The man, about 75, surrendered and faces a preliminary hearing tomorrow. Neighbor complaints spurred the investigation.
