Glend a le Calif a memorial mausoleum for storing capsules containing frozen human bodies is planned by a cryoeugenics research foundation based here. Norman J. Bedford describes the site named the Dr James Bedford Memorial Mausoleum to revive the deceased when medical cures exist. His father Dr James Bedford pursued science and philosophy and funded the effort. The foundation will grant research, build facilities and establish a lab for freezing subjects after death.
Jerry Olsen, 31, of Sturgis South Dakota, began as a rodeo clown after filling in for an injured performer in Spooner Wisconsin in 1953. He became famed for dangerous Roman Riding acts atop two horses, now often with his three year old daughter on his shoulders, while his wife and two older sons remain part of the act.
Palm Springs California AP Sam Mason a 49 year old test pilot and grandfather flew a helicopter upside down with fixed rigid rotor blades at the Helicopter Association of America convention. The hinges on normal blades are absent here allowing loops rolls and rotor-over maneuvers at 500 to 1500 feet. A Lockheed spokesman notes the design could outmaneuver a fighter plane in a dogfight.
