Five year old Johnny Jasper of Friona died from third degree burns after tumbling into a vat of boiling water used to scald hogs at mid day. He suffered extensive burns before being rescued and died tonight. Funeral arrangements were not announced.

In Graham Texas on January 17 a murder trial hears testimony about a backyard scuffle in which Elga Richardson, 20, was shot dead allegedly by his father Charles Richardson. Neighbor Mrs. J. G. Duvall describes the scene as a boy played nearby and a struggle near the back door followed by a gunshot. Dr. H. C. McKinney testifies the bullet entered the back and exited under the right rib. Charles Richardson gives his version of the quarrel over a car and the events that led to the shooting.
