Tax failure closes Stinnett High School in Borger Texas
In Borger Texas on January 16 the Stinnett high school closed after tax collection failure. Thirty three students will attend Plemons high school, the only accredited high school in Hutchinson county, many of them children of Phillips Petroleum workers. Plemons now enrolls about 55 students. Stinnett pupils will receive grade instruction via a mass meeting of district patrons.

Grove City youth confesses to double murder for car
Edward Kaltenbaugh, 25, of Grove City Pennsylvania, admitted killing his employer John Over and his wife Mrs Over of Canal Fulton Ohio to steal their car for his girlfriend. Borger Man Fatally Shoots Himself in Cigar Store
Tom Shields, about 20, entered a Borger cigar store and, saying the law was after him, drew a .38 caliber revolver and shot himself in the abdomen. Doctors said the wound would probably prove fatal. A sister Lavina Shields, a nurse in Pittsburg Kansas, and a brother-in-law near Akens Texas are his listed relatives.
