Muleshoe Man Found Guilty Of Murder Without Malice
Bernardo Salcido of Muleshoe was found guilty of murder without malice by a 154th District Court jury. He received a five year penitentiary term, the maximum for the conviction, after a two hour and twenty minute deliberation. The trial centered on whether he killed his wife Guadalupe and mother in law Mary Murillo with malice. Salcido claimed he blacked out after his wife struck him with a broom and denied actually killing them. The double slaying occurred March 21 four miles east of town. he faces later murder charges for Ms Murillo.
