Gas blast at Pearl es Casaba mine kills six
Six men died in a late day gas explosion at the Peerles Casaba Coal mine near Straven about 40 miles from Birmingham Alabama. One miner was injured and seven were in the shaft at the time of the blast. Rescue parties and mine officials began investigations.
