Ronald Craig Payne of Childress held more than twenty police and sheriff's officers at bay for nearly three hours Monday night with threats of death by his own action. A man faced fines of 32.55 dollars and 60 days in jail on a charge of driving while intoxicated and carrying a prohibited weapon.
