Club Women of Panhandle to Build Floats for Parade
The Panhandle home demonstration club women will craft colorful floats for the Mother-In-Law Day parade with Mrs. Roosevelt as guest. About 2,800 women from 12 counties will participate, with Miss Ruby Mashburn directing designs and hundreds of thousands of flowers used. Attendees include Miss Ludwig Dumas, Miss Westbrook Panhandle, Mrs. Michael Canyon, and many others from Amarillo, Perryton, Stinnett, Dumas, Texhoma, Stratford, and Childress.

Everett L. Allen a 38 year old brakeman for Rock Island Railway Lines fell between two cars of a moving train near Sunray thirty miles east of Dalhart and died twenty minutes later. His body went to Peeples Funeral Home in Dalhart and would be sent to El Reno Ohio where his widow and mother live. Allen had been transferred to Dalhart from El Reno about a year ago.
