By 2 a m they used an electric generator to power a Saw cutting into two lanes to reach the fire believed to have started beneath end alleys. A teen passerby spotted smoke and firemen described intense heat and a smoldering door left smoldering after entry.
Amarillo's City Commission invites the public to a regular session today at 3 p.m. in the new City Hall. Agenda includes housing condemnation in North Heights, weekday use of the municipal golf course by seniors, contracts for street sweepers and equipment, and a recommendation for city action on three bills to be sent to the legislature.
