The tank was full. no one was inside when it collapsed. A bystander described the torn steel as like glass. The other two tanks were not affected. General manager J. Frank Triplett cautioned the weather could have caused trouble and placed the tower’s replacement value at about 195000 dollars. The tank stood next to the large concrete elevator. Night watchman W. Z. Baker was noted.
American National Bank added three new directors Dr Edward D McKay and Cliff Miinar both of Amarillo and J B Watkins of Borger. Seven previous AL directors were re elected total ten. Amarillo National Bank retired F M Butler reducing board from seven to six. Roy V Harrison named assistant cashier at Amarillo National. Eugene F Gidel promoted to vice president and cashier at American National. First National re elected its entire slate of 15 directors.
