Homer Mulkey Dies Pioneer civic leader of Clarendon

Homer Mulkey 64 a Panhandle resident and longtime Clarendon civic leader died this morning in a Fort Worth hospital after an operation. He moved to Texas in 1889 joined the XIT Ranch then ran a photographic studio and Time past theater. Surviving his widow and extensive local involvement.

Plane Guard Fires at Loiterer in New Orleans

In New Orleans a loiterer under the wing of a Douglas bombing plane being dismantled for shipment to England was fired on by Ray Ellzey, 60, one of six armed guards. Ellzey fired three rounds after the man refused to halt, suspecting sabotage. The man appeared to escape unhurt.

Palmer County officers announce three men charged with assault with intent to murder in the December 27 shooting of 11 year old Wanda Lee Martin in Clovis. Richard Mittelfelt, 30, estranged husband of the victim’s aunt, confessed and implicated two identified youths Clarence Ingram 21 and Charles Wilson 18.
