Girl Rescued Alive From 15 Foot Storm Hole
Alycia Hernandez a three year old girl was pulled alive after a nearly six hour rescue from a 15 foot deep hole at a storm excavation site near her Lomita California home. Fire officials said her head was 12 feet 4 inches below the surface as rescuers dug a larger shaft and worked across to reach her. Her parents and family priest watched the tense scene with television viewers across Los Angeles.

Federal Employees to Receive Pay Reform and Raises

NVM Rancher Dies In Auto Collision
Kenna rancher Lewis Cooper, 56, died in a car pickup crash 10 miles west of Melrose on U.S. 60-84. Jim Bob Knuckles, 30, of Kenna, was listed in critical condition at Clovis Memorial Hospital. Three Clovis residents Gilbert Villa 28, his wife Salina 26, and daughter Margaret also in critical condition. Funeral services to be announced by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales. Railroad Aid Plan To Be Told In Front Of 700 Workers
