Reports say the storm roars across the eastern Rocky Mountain slope from Wyoming to Mexico with record cold and heavy snow. Temperatures dip to 39 below in Colorado and reach 35 below in New Mexico while snow depths reach from one to forty feet. Trains are stalled and cattle suffer as utilities and travel are disrupted.
Dalhart Texas reports ongoing blizzard weather from Saturday with seven below zero temperatures. Snow drifts aggravate conditions as water pipes freeze and cattle seem hardy but at risk if cold persists.
Yesterday and overnight a severe blizzard swept the Ama rillo plains with a low of two degrees below zero at 7 am. A north gale and fine snow created icy streets while businesses stayed open. Exceeding last year’s cold, the region faces possible stock losses but forecasters expect moderation with more snow.
In New York on January 6 Associated Press reports 500 striking garment workers attempted to intercept 350 young women leaving their jobs. Police guard was attacked as workers fought to reach clothing firms. Cars lined the curb and ferried workers away after police used clubs on attackers.

The Salt Lake City Clearing House association faces a House sub committee inquiry. W W Armstrong of National Copper Bank testifies he left the association over its rule to deny interest on checked accounts and claims the arrangement costs his bank 2590 dollars annually. He argues the group is a restraint of trade and acts as bank officers. After the hearing the committee adjourns to executive session as Chairman Page plans a detailed report before March 4.
Labor leaders convicted in a dynamite case may appeal to the United States Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago within ten days. Attorneys say bonds will not go to Judge Anderson in Indianapolis. District Attorney Miller will evaluate the sureties.

A woman gave police information leading to the arrest of four men amid a spree of bold law and night robberies in Chicago.
