Ranger Captain Indicted on Liquor Charges

San Antonio January 5 Captain B C Baldwin in charge of state rangers at San Antonio was re indicted by the 37th district court grand jury in its final report. Indictments charge failure to properly report intoxicating liquors seized two months ago and with improper handling. The grand jury had previously indicted Baldwin in the 94th district court but those indictments were dismissed. The panel criticized the district attorney for not prosecuting and urged appointing a special prosecutor if he fails to press the new cases. The original indictments arose from a seizure of bonded liquor from two men Bell and McDonna. State law requires seizure liquor to be reported and turned over to the county sheriff for destruction by court order.
