Two Army Fliers Killed in Crash at Chanute Field
In Rantoul Illinois on January 4 Captain Reginald Gillespie of Seattle Washington and Sergeant Clarence Suddeth of Ridge Farm Illinois died when their plane crashed in a residential vacant lot during a routine flight. Major James Duke said the cause is under review and the plane did not burn. Both men were 36. Gillespie survived by his mother in Spokane and his widow in Rantoul. Suddeth left a widow and two children in town.
