Convicted youth awaits sentence in deputy slaying case
In Ardmore Oklahoma on January 4 a youth named Colquit Davis was convicted of murder in the slaying of Deputy Sheriff Con Ed Hey. The judge Ava Walden left sentence to the jury and indicated the death penalty may be considered. the panel, after midnight, returned a verdict around 10:30 am with no fixed sentence. Davis and his brother were said to be present during the shooting and later arrested in Texas. Keirsey’s death in the line of duty was cited by authorities.

In Overton Texas three men en route from Shreveport to Dallas died when their plane hit a pine tree in mist and fog.
