Large posses press hunt for two Young brothers in Missouri
Oscar Young and his wife were captured as large posses including airplanes, bloodhounds, deputies and National Guardsmen hunted for Harry and Jennings Young who allegedly killed six officers at a Young farm house near Springfield. The search extended across the Ozark Hills as authorities said the killers may still be nearby after a gun battle that left Sheriff Marcell Hendrix and five officers dead and three wounded.

Mystery surrounds slaying of officer near Fort Devon field
Lieutenant William J. French U.S. Army on leave from Fort Devon Massachusetts was found dead from a head wound near his car four miles south of Gilroy California. A pistol on the car running board was the weapon. Mrs. Gertrude McEnroe identified the scene and said she traveled with French from San Francisco to Los Angeles at 5 AM and that he appeared insane and threatened to kill both of them.

Unusual January rains disrupt San Antonio area traffic
Rainfall from Del Rio to the Rio Grande Valley ranged from light mist west of San Antonio to over 6 inches at Beeville. In San Antonio 0.90 inch fell. Campers at Beeville tourist camps were rescued as water flooded sites. Water covered Southern Pacific tracks between Victoria and Fannin and between Beeville and Gregory and Kenedy. No washouts reported. Highway traffic halted in several locations.

Four Hurt In Dumas Crash At Tyler Street Intersection
Four persons from Dumas were injured Sunday when their car collided with another at the Twenty-ninth Avenue Tyler Street intersection. Elsie Reimers aged 28 suffered chest and hand bruises and possible internal injuries but was improving at St. Anthony's Hospital. Henry Reimers, his wife, and their 13 year old son Harry sustained minor injuries and were released after first aid. E A Regal of 3603 Van Buren Street, driver of the other car, was uninjured. The Reimers were enroute to visit their daughter J L Keeny at 3710 Tyler Street.
