Amarillo Bus Company asks the City Commission to discontinue night and Sunday service on four routes and to cut the gross revenue tax to one tenth of one percent starting July 1. Leonard Nussbaum warned of losses during the pre holiday period and urged street maintenance consideration. The commission will hear more details next week and potentially act at the following meeting.
Secretary of State Dulles deposits 30 copies of historical papers and a canceled U S passport in a copper box to be sealed in the cornerstone of the new State Department building under construction. The project consolidates 29 offices banked around the capital and aims for completion in early 1960.
