Three Injured When Auto Leaves Road Near Vernon
An automobile plunged into a ditch east of Vernon injuring three people. Driver F. D. Roan, 48, of Lubbock or Wichita Falls, suffered a severe head cut and broken hip and was unconscious for hours. Finney Given Long Prison Term in Kansas Bond Scandal

Preliminary digging and grading started by the State Highway Department for a new underpass to replace the Marymere crossing on Highway 33 east of Amarillo. The project, estimated at 50 000 to 60 000 dollars, will straighten the highway and eliminate a dangerous east west track crossing, providing work for about 50 men over 70 days. The underpass will be located about a quarter mile west of the Marymere crossing in a farm area named Marymere.
